Dear TCS Families,

As late fall weather begins to settle in at TCS, I wanted to provide you with our cold weather policy:
 
Our plan is to be outside for morning drop-off and recess as much as possible unless:
  • it is actively precipitating (rain, snow, ice, or any mix)
  • the “feels like” temperature is below 20 degrees
  • the playground is snow/ice covered or very muddy
To ensure we are all using the same information please follow the steps below:
  1. Download “The Weather Channel” app (free)
  2. When you open the app be sure it says Newark, DE (zip code 19716)
  3. Below the actual temperature is a “Feels Like” temperature
  4. If the “Feels Like” temperature is below 20 degrees we will have drop-off at the front of the building and we will have inside recess.
Upcoming events/activities:
  • 11/16- Rob DeMasi, Director of Admissions at St. Mark’s High School, is visiting TCS and will be meeting with students in Mrs. Krause’s and Mrs. Pop’s homerooms.
  • 11/18- This week’s lunch outing will be at Caesar Rodney Dining Hall located on 350 Academy Street. 
  • 11/21- Parent/Teacher conferences are scheduled for next Monday.  There is no school for students on conference day.  If you would like to schedule a conference, but have not set up a time to meet with your child’s homeroom teacher, please reach out to him/her as soon as possible.
  • Thanksgiving break is scheduled for next week, November 21st-25th.  Classes will resume on Monday, November 28th.
