Hello,

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Philip D. Piercy, Ph.D., to the role of interim director of the College School at the University of Delaware.

Dr. Piercy comes to the College School from The Highlands School (THS), an independent K-12 program designed for students with dyslexia, ADHD, and language-based learning differences, located in Bel Air, Md. As head of school, he oversaw all aspects of the school’s operation, including admissions, development, strategic planning and the successful reaccreditation of THS under the Association of Independent Maryland & DC Schools (AIMS).

Prior to THS, Dr. Piercy served as principal of Archbishop Curley High School in Baltimore, where he exhibited a strong ability for innovation and implementing a 1:1 iPad program. He also launched an International Student Program at THS. He holds a Ph.D. in Instructional Leadership for Changing School Populations from Notre Dame of Maryland University, a M.Ed. in Administration and Supervision from Loyola College, and a B.S. in Social Studies Education from Elizabethtown College.

With more than 25 years of experience in the field of education, Dr. Piercy believes in being student-centered, which will be invaluable to the leadership of the College School in its pursuit of exceptional teaching and an engaged community of students and families. We look forward to having Phil join us in this role.

Best,
Gary Henry
